Devlog 0: Dusting Off
It's quite dusty in here
Hello!! I thought this specific location of my website is rather empty. So I came with some gear to clean it up. Just for now, as I have no idea when this will have the next devlog. Truth be told, this game was supposed to be first, but due to its complexity, I would rather sit on it for some time, hence why Project Caelum is taking prio right now.
As I mentioned in my other devlog, I participated in a MechJam more than 2 years ago. It honestly feels like it happened more than 4 years ago, for whatever reason. And right after it, I stopped fiddling with anything game related, except maybe playing them, but game dev was off the table. Until last year, when I decided to maybe give it a shot again, and I have been at it ever since. Having a job helps immensely to keep this up.
Just 3 months ago, I again participated in a MechJam, the seventh one. So it was the first time I actually made a game since I stopped, and it was definitely weird. Felt good, but also weird. Hard to explain. I am just happy that I still retain some of the knowledge from before.
From feedback, it seems the visuals were improved, but ah, I misjudged some other aspects. I didn't have time to create a good soundtrack or make better sound effects. To me, sound and music in video games is just as important as the art style and gameplay, and I might have missed the mark here, but I can't judge my own works. I grow numb to them and just trust my instinct and whether I want to play this game.
So go check it out. This devlog here is just to dust off the place and not make it dead.
That didn't take much cleaning.
